Although I may have branched out a bit into other types of geckos (and amphibians and arachnids) I will always hold a soft spot in my heart for Pictus. Back in the early 2000’s I had gotten a job at the local pet store down the street and we received two “panther” geckos with emerald green eyes. They were bright and inquisitive and quickly piqued my interest. We knew little about their care and the internet was not the “front and center” database of information it is today. We housed them simply, with what was available to us, ground coco soil or sand and a small hide and water dish. Soon we discovered our two little pictus were a pair as they laid us an impossibly tiny set of eggs under their hide. The rest, as they say, is history…
